With the latest version of its enterprise search solution DirectInfo Semantec has extended and optimized the application area of its successful full text search engine.

 

DirectInfo is perhaps the first enterprise search engine, which completely supports Oracle database version 11g and has incorporated Oracle 11g innovations. For instance, the new Oracle 11g feature 'result set caching' has considerably improved the search performance in DirectInfo application. In order to address successfully the diverse customer needs, Semantec has completed the version portfolio by a 64-bit Linux version.

 

Security and integration have been important issues also in this version's development. For instance, DirectInfo 5.9 can support even the largest and most complex MS active directory folder structures. Furthermore, the upload information (a new feature in DirectInfo 5.8) can now be directly stored in the database and, thus, both facilitates the back-up procedure and improves the security parameters.
